Joe is a Grade A Solicitor with more than 8 years post qualification experience.
Unless a fixed fee is agreed Joe's hourly rate is £400 per hour subject to VAT at the
prevailing rate.
Fixed fee domestic violence cases
Whilst the following fixed fees maybe open to variation dependent on the complexity of the matter and time and work needed to present your defence to the standard required our minimum fixed fees are as follows:
Magistrates cases - £3,500.00 plus VAT
Crown Court cases- £10.000.00 plus VAT
These fees can increase allowing for the instruction of a defence barrister and any necessary disbursement.
These fees encompass preparation of the case and representation from the beginning of the case to its conclusion at trial. They do not include any appeal or work required thereafter.
For Summary Only motoring offences, that is cases that can only be heard in the Magistrates' Court such as 'drink driving', speeding our likely fees are as follows:
Advice on appearing in person
Advice on appearing in person, that is neither I nor counsel will appear at Court and make representations for you, £250 to £400 + VAT
Representation
Representing you when you plead not guilty £2,500 to £4,000 + VAT
Exceptional Hardship
Exceptional Hardship or Special Circumstances applications, that is to seek to persuade the Court not to sentence you to a period of disqualification £1,400 to £2,000 + VAT
Appearing at Court
Appearing at Court to represent you when you plead guilty, £1,400 to
£2,000 + VAT
Trials
Trials where forensic or expert evidence is required £4,000 to £6,000 plus VAT plus the costs of expert witnesses which may be £3,000 plus VAT.
Court Appearance
Appearing at any procedural hearing £250 to £400 + VAT
Pricing
We will also charge mileage and travelling time at £200 + VAT per hour for hearings outside of Greater Manchester, specifically Manchester Magistrates Court and Tameside Magistrates Court.
It is not possible to say how long it will take, after you have been charged, for a hearing to enter a plea or trial to be listed but you should expect there to be a delay of at least three months.
For all other types of work we charge £400 + VAT per hour and will provide a fixed fee quote, estimate or reason why we cannot provide an estimate on engagement.
